Punjab to Reopen All Educational Institutions from April 1, Announces Education Minister

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan has announced that all educational institutions across Punjab will reopen from April 1, 2026, marking the end of the current holiday period.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the minister stated that the ongoing تعطیلات will conclude on March 31. “From April 1, the academic process will resume from where it was interrupted,” he said, adding that the government’s focus will now shift toward minimizing learning losses among students.

The announcement brings clarity after uncertainty surrounding a possible extension of school closures. The holidays had earlier been announced until March 31 due to an ongoing energy crisis, which emerged amid regional tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.

With the reopening confirmed, schools, colleges, and universities are expected to resume normal academic activities. However, officials may issue further guidelines if required.

Students, parents, and educational institutions are now preparing for a full return to classrooms, as authorities emphasize continuity in learning and recovery of lost academic time.
