Punjab Schools Closed Friday to Sunday ā 4-Day Week Starts Now
Lahore ā Big news for all students in Punjab.
Schools, colleges, and universities will now remain physically closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
This means on-campus classes will only be from Monday to Thursday ā a 4-day academic week.
What Has Changed?
- Physical classes: Monday to Thursday only
- Physical closure: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Friday option: Colleges can hold online classes if they want
New Class Timings (Monday to Thursday)
Single-shift institutions:
8:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Double-shift institutions:
First shift: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Second shift: 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
Afternoon-only sessions:
1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
What Did the Minister Say?
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said:
"This decision gives flexibility to schools. No instructional time will be lost. Online classes on Friday will keep learning going."

What About Online Classes on Friday?
Not every college will hold Friday online classes. Each college will decide based on:
