Lahore – Big news for all students in Punjab.

Schools, colleges, and universities will now remain physically closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

This means on-campus classes will only be from Monday to Thursday – a 4-day academic week.

What Has Changed?

• Physical classes: Monday to Thursday only
• Physical closure: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Friday option: Colleges can hold online classes if they want

New Class Timings (Monday to Thursday)

Single-shift institutions:
8:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Double-shift institutions:
First shift: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Second shift: 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM

Afternoon-only sessions:
1:00 PM to 5:30 PM

What Did the Minister Say?

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said:

"This decision gives flexibility to schools. No instructional time will be lost. Online classes on Friday will keep learning going."
