The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has indicated a possible delay in its SSC Annual Exams 2026 for students appearing from Gulf countries due to the current security situation in the region.
In an official notice issued on March 18, the board confirmed that it is reviewing whether exams can be conducted as planned. The Class 9 and 10 examinations were originally scheduled to begin on March 31 at various international centers, mainly in Gulf countries.
According to officials, the board is in contact with Pakistani missions and local authorities in host countries to assess the situation. If conditions do not improve, exams may be postponed and rescheduled after Eid ul Fitr.
Prof. Dr. Ikram Ali Malik assured students and parents that their safety is the top priority. He said the board is closely monitoring developments and is ready to make alternative arrangements if needed.
He added that no student will be academically affected, and a delay would be preferred over conducting exams in uncertain conditions.
The SSC exams are an important milestone for students following the federal curriculum, especially those studying in countries like Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman, where a large number of Pakistani students appear every year.
If postponed, exams are likely to be held after Eid, giving the board time to reorganize logistics and ensure a safe environment for candidates.
Students have been advised to continue their preparation and regularly check official updates from the board. A final decision is expected in the coming days.
